Abstract:
Thermal shroud is an important part of the spacecraft testing equipment, to provide the cold black space environment. Most of them are made of aluminum, copper and stainless steel-copper. Stainless steel thermal shroud is a new type of thermal shrouds, with good capabilities in vacuum and cyogenic conditions, and has found quite extensive engineering uses in other countries. In this paper, the structure and the technology of stainless steel thermal shroud are discussed. Based on machining practice and a test analysis, the technique of manufacturing the stainless steel thermal shroud is developed.
